Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)

noun · the present value of expected future owner earnings
Definition

PV of N years of forecast cash flows + terminal value, discounted at the appropriate rate. Always three scenarios.

Why it matters

A DCF is a structured way to pressure-test growth assumptions, not a calculator that produces "the answer".
